Antler and Bone Sculptures

Moose and deer antlers offer a dense, soft, mineral substance for carving. These animals lose their antlers every fall, after the rut, and I am lucky enough to find some. I also keep the antlers of the animals I hunt, as well as their bones, which offer an interesting carving material.

Hunting Bone Necklace: After a successful hunt, a friend asked me to create a piece to remember the occasion. Using the animal's bone, I made a series of petals and on each, I drew the highlights of his hunt.
